Suns Host Pelicans in Western Conference First Round

Brandon Ingram Leads Pelicans to Victory in Game 1

New Orleans Takes 1-0 Lead in Series

The Phoenix Suns and New Orleans Pelicans tipped off their Western Conference First Round series on Sunday night, with the Pelicans emerging victorious in a thrilling 129-114 contest. Led by Brandon Ingram's 37 points, 26 of which came in the second half, New Orleans took an early lead in the series.

Ingram was dominant in the paint, scoring 11 of his rebounds in the second half. He also dished out nine assists, proving to be a force on both ends of the court. Zion Williamson also contributed 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Pelicans, while C.J. McCollum added 23 points.

The Suns were led by Devin Booker's 26.8 points per game, but the All-Star guard struggled to find his rhythm in Game 1. He shot just 8-for-24 from the field and committed five turnovers. Deandre Ayton added 21 points and 11 rebounds for Phoenix, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Pelicans' balanced attack.

The Pelicans have now won six of their last seven games against the Suns, including three straight in Phoenix. Game 2 of the series is set for Tuesday night in Phoenix before moving to New Orleans for Games 3 and 4.

The Suns will need to find a way to contain Ingram and Williamson if they want to tie the series. Expect Booker to bounce back in Game 2, but the Pelicans have shown that they have the depth and talent to compete with the top teams in the Western Conference.
